Behavioral Threat Assessment

Lyons School District 103 employs a comprehensive behavioral threat assessment process, the Comprehensive School Threat Assessment Guidelines (CSTAG). This protocol is utilized to objectively ascertain the gravity of reported threats. Its implementation involves both a multidisciplinary District Threat Assessment Team and individual Building Threat Assessment Teams. The primary objectives of this process are to prevent violent incidents, identify students requiring assistance, and mediate conflicts to avert escalation to violence.
