On September 15th the Elm School Class of 1962 held a very special reunion at Robinson School.  Sixteen alumni and their spouses attended the event celebrating fifty years since their eighth grade graduation.  The graduates form the Class of 1962 walked the halls, visited classrooms, and reminisced about the many special memories they shared throughout their elementary school years.  Joining this very special group of former classmates was Mr. Purpura, their seventh grade teacher, and Mrs. Pitrak, former room mother and girl scouts leader who is still a member of the community.  Although several members of the Class of 1962 live throughout the United States, they remain in touch and share a very special bond.  Elm School and the town of Lyons will forever hold a special place in their hearts.  Special thanks to Dona "Lemon" DuMelle for organizing one of the most memorable events of their lives.

*Elm School was renamed in the early 1970's to honor the bravery and heroism of Sergeant James W. Robinson, Jr. who lost his life in battle while saving the lives of soldiers during the Vietnam War.
