Illinois Learning Standards
The Illinois Learning Standards define what all students in all Illinois public schools should know and be able to do as a result of their elementary and secondary schooling. The Performance Descriptors and aligned Classroom Assessments were developed by Illinois teachers for Illinois teachers to enhance the standards and to serve as resources to help teachers determine local performance expectations at each grade level.
New Common Core Standards
The New Common Core Standarts have been adopted by the State of Illinois and will replace the former Learning Standards.
Curriculum Development Process
One goal of the Board of Education is a curriculum that is consistent from Kindergarten through 8th grade. A 6 Part Curriclulm Development process in being used. Each content area is then guided by questions throughout the 6 Part cycle.
